Who We Are
NONPROFIT RECOGNITION: PISI is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Charity.
IRS Church Description: Certain characteristics are generally attributed to churches. These attributes of a church have been developed by the IRS and by court decisions. They include: distinct legal existence; recognized creed and form of worship;
definite and distinct ecclesiastical government; formal code of doctrine and discipline; distinct religious history; membership not associated with any other church or denomination; organization of ordained ministers; ordained ministers selected after
completing prescribed courses of study; literature of its own; established places of worship; regular congregations; regular religious services; Sunday schools for the religious instruction of the young; schools for the preparation of its ministers. The IRS
generally uses a combination of these characteristics, together with other facts and circumstances, to determine whether an organization is considered a church for federal tax purposes. PISI's principle activity is providing a sanctuary for the advancement
of religion. It is operated for the purpose of worship, religious training or study, and governance or administration of religions.
In 2003, our ecclesiastical unit discerned God's call to grow into a multipurpose nonprofit public charity. This vision expanded to include facilities for
community outreach services and an education center for self-sufficiency. The community responded generously and we are realizing the blessings and
challenges of growing into a multipurpose nonprofit public charity.
PISI’s multipurpose programs build strong families and communities by teaching individuals the skills they need to become self-reliant. Since 2003, PISI
has conducted its own programs of education, outreach, and advocacy; published reports from the field of community-based social service projects; and
also has funded the work of other nonprofit organizations and public institutions selected by its Board of Directors.
A "promise" conveys a bond, a sincere agreement that goes far beyond idle words. Promises are made to be kept. Promises fulfilled solidify future
relationships, and give reason for trust.
PISI has been "Fulfilling the Promise" to those who place trust in us since 2003. This is a trust we take very seriously as we keep faith not only with our
history and those who have gone before, but as we thoughtfully plan for tomorrow. Certainly, PISI has changed through the years and we have grown in
terms of breadth and depth.
- Campus Culture. Promote the development and preparation of individuals, society and staff through regular community ministry groups, academic
programs, self-sufficiency programs and mutual accountability.
- Academic Excellence. Academic outcome goals (1) Integrity, (2) Self-sufficiency, (3) Social Responsibility.
- Constituent Relationships. Continue to increase public awareness and reputation of PISI has been greatly enhanced by focused advertising and
general marketing of this 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Charity.
- Financial Vitality. The success of PISI has been in great part due to the ongoing financial investment by Donors and friends in the future of PISI. This
has resulted in increased donations to annual funds, deferred gifts, and capital projects.
- Campus Master Plan Development. Part of the promise is the commitment to keep facilities updated and current. Since 2003 we have completed
construction of 5 new buildings, remodeled others and acquired significant additional residential housing through generous gifts.
The marvelous people who fill the important advancement roles assist PISI in the "Promise Keeping Business" with development of scholarship funding
and new facilities, funding for academic enhancement and special projects, campus master planning that upholds our heritage and traditions, assisting
PISI supporters with estate planning, tax council, life income plans and more. PISI is committed to "helping people help themselves" and serves all persons
in a non-discriminatory manner.

Faith-based charities that provide health or human services are more likely to report challenges in obtaining funding, with over two-thirds (70 percent)
naming it as a major challenge. PISI and the Integrity Team depend on the generosity of their donors to enable them to provide valuable services to the
communities inside and outside of the USA.
Faith-based charities, such as PISI, that provide health or human services are more likely than congregations and non-secular charities to serve only the
general public rather than their own members and to target their services to low-income groups. Your donations are put to good use, providing
opportunities for a better life to people with disabilities and people with disadvantaging circumstances by facilitating outreach services, creating jobs,
providing free training and cash grants. We use your donation wisely spending 90 cents out of every dollar raised from your donation on our programs.
YOU ARE YOUR BROTHER'S KEEPER Your goodwill via monetary donations has reached people inside and outside of the USA!
